Three people have been killed in two separate road accidents in Hyderabad.

One man was burnt alive when a container truck caught fire after it was hit by another truck near Shameerpet on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Thursday.

According to police, a brick-laden lorry coming from Karimnagar to Hyderabad hit the container truck carrying transformers while trying to overtake it. The collision led to fire in the container truck and the man standing guard with transformers was killed.

Both the vehicles were gutted in the collision. The driver of the brick lorry escaped after the accident.

In another accident late Wednesday, two youths riding a motorcycle were killed after they were run over by a RTC bus in Hyderabad.

The incident occurred near Nalgonda Crossroads under the limits of Chaderghat police station. The youth came under the wheels of Road Transport Corporation (RTC) bus.

The deceased were identified as Mohammed Ilhaf Ahmed (14) and Shoaib (20), who were friends and residents of Old Malakpet. The students were returning home after attending a ceremony in connection with marriage of Ilhaf’s sister scheduled on March 12. A day before the marriage, Ilhaf’s family plunged into gloom.

Police shifted the bodies of the youth to government-run Osmania General Hospital for autopsy.
